Upgrading to a new version

In the version number of the software, the first number indicates a major version, for example version x. The number after the major version indicates a minor version, for example, version x.y. Finally, the last numbers indicate the build, for example x.y.zzzz.

A summary of changes and corrections implemented in the latest packages is available from the Promodag Reports version history page.

How to obtain a newer version of the software

On the Help menu, point to Check for Updates in order to download and run the latest available cumulated update, or download the latest package from the Downloads page of our website.

Upgrading to a major version

Upgrading to a major version of Promodag Reports- for example from version 12 to version 14 - involves the following operations:

• Install the new version 
• Transfer an existing configuration
• Convert the database 
• Adapt scheduled tasks
• Adapt custom reports

Upgrading to a minor version or to the latest build

Should you simply need to upgrade to a minor version - for example from version 14.0 to 14.x - or to the latest build - for example from version 14.0.0029 to 14.0.0066, please follow these steps:

• Install the new version 
• Convert the database 
• Adapt custom reports

Note: Your settings and custom reports will remain unchanged.

You do neither need to uninstall Promodag Reports (unless you are asked to do so), nor to reboot the computer once the update is completed.
