Purpose and usage of the 'marked as deleted' flag
As your directory evolves over time, you may have to remove objects such as mailboxes, databases or servers from Active Directory. Due to its relational model, these objects will not be removed from the Promodag Reports database.
- Mailboxes or public folders with linked messages cannot be removed if these imported messages are still present in the database.
- Databases cannot be removed if recipients are still linked to them.
- Servers cannot be removed if databases are still linked to them.
- In general an object cannot be deleted if children objects are still linked to it.
Promodag Reports includes an option allowing deleted objects to stay in the database without being visible either in the interface or in reports: marking objects as deleted. Directory objects such as mailboxes, databases, servers can be marked as deleted.
Automatically marking cleared directory objects as deleted
When carrying out a full re-import of the directory, Promodag Reports automatically marks as deleted objects that can no longer be found in Active Directory at that time.
