Data source: Directory (On-Premises Exchange)

Description

The directory data source is used to produce reports on Exchange-related directory objects. The application retrieves all Exchange-related objects from the directory to identify mail-enabled objects, or 'recipients' and imports them into the database.

Some of our customers' directories contains over 100,000 objects. The size of the directory should not be a problem for most organizations.

How to import directory data

Use the Import Directory Data option or click the button on the Toolbar. A directory import is also carried out before message tracking data is imported if the last update is more than 24 hours old. You can decide whether you want a full import, or simply an update. You should update the directory records in the database every time the Exchange Directory is modified in order to obtain the most accurate reports possible. Otherwise, the software will recognize the newest Exchange recipients as unknown. As this process may take some time, you may want to wait for several changes and postpone this step for a later time.

Collected attributes

By default, Promodag Reports imports both mandatory and additional attributes from Active Directory.

It is possible to choose to import mandatory attributes only. However, some reports also require additional attributes. For more information about this feature, see Importing directory with additional attributes.
