Promodag Reports collects the information it needs from different native Exchange data sources.
Note: To find out if a report is dynamic or not, check whether it has a Period tab. If it is not possible to select a reporting period, then the report is dynamic. If you can select a reporting period, then the report is historical.
For a visual description of the relationship between data sources, database and reporting, see Reports and data sources: schematic system layout.
For the complete list of available reports, see List of Reports.
The Office 365 data sources used by Promodag Reports are listed below:
What for? | Where does it come from? | How to configure it |
---|---|---|
The directory data source is used to produce reports on Exchange-related directory objects. The application retrieves all Exchange-related objects from the directory to identify mail-enabled objects, or 'recipients' and imports them into the database. | Data source: Directory (Office 365) | Configuring the access to Office 365 |
The message tracking data source is used to produce the email traffic reports. Promodag Reports lets you generate hourly message tracking logs from Office 365 using PowerShell. The application reads these files, analyzes their content and stores the result into the database. | Data source: Message tracking | Creating Office 365 message tracking files |
The Mailbox and Public folder content data source is used to produce reports on mailbox and public folder content. Data is dynamically collected through an EWS connection to Office 365. Data is not stored into the database. |
